Devs on system requirements...

Quite often, we get complaints from users about the game client not operating the way it should. In most cases, when we start looking into things together with the players, the reason lies in the combined configuration of a user's computer and the selected preset graphics.

Despite having rather powerful hardware, players negate all the advantages of the performance of their machine by using a 32-bit operating system. To avoid such problems in the future, we want to once again draw your attention to the list of minimum and recommended system requirements. These characteristics are provided in order to ensure the most comfortable playing on the configuration that you have at the moment.

  • x86 (32-bit) systems in our game are designed to use the LOW graphics preset. In this case, the capacity of the user’s machine in terms of the video card or RAM size is irrelevant. This is due to memory consumption of the game. If the crashes occur on x86 systems, and the pre-set is different from LOW – you can safely lower the preset completely, or at least the “texture quality” locally.

Why? Because no matter the RAM size, on the 32-bit Windows the maximum amount of memory for the process is 2 Gb. On the LOW preset, the game fits into this limit. Starting from MEDIUM, the crashes are possible due to a lack of memory in the system.  This is why the players may do the MEDIUM and up presets on Windows x86 entirely at their own risk.

  • If you are using integrated video (IntelHD and others), the minimum size should be extended by 512 Mb. It is reflected in the table with the minimum system requirements.

Why? Integrated video cards do not have their own video memory and allocate it from the RAM, which raises the minimum limit for RAM. With 2 GB of available memory, and an integrated video card (most laptops in the lower price category), there are crashes likely to occur due to the inability to allocate the required amount of memory.

  • We would like to once again emphasize – MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS are designed for MINIMUM GRAPHICS SETTINGS.

Huge Naval Fleet

Destroyers serve a number of roles in the game. They can be used to seek out enemy ships for the big-guns on their team to target, to launch torpedo salvoes at enemy ships and provide additional anti-aircraft cover for friendly vessels.

Cruisers are the most manoeuvrable class of warship. Designed to react fast and with deadly force, they act as a destroyer shield for larger ships and as anti-aircraft platforms for the team. They can fight toe-to–toe with other cruisers and some can utilize torpedoes to damage capital ships.

Battleships are the quintessential "heavy hitters" of World of Warships and offer a triple threat to their opponents. Massive firepower coupled with heavy armour make them the deadly juggernauts of the sea. Secondary gun batteries make them a serious threat to smaller vessels, and the many anti-aircraft guns lining their decks offer a tremendous amount of anti-aircraft defence.

Aircraft carriers

Aircraft Carriers are the game's stand-alone, multi-role ship, bringing RTS-style gameplay to the battle. They carry three kinds of aircraft: Dive Bombers, Torpedo Bombers and Fighter Planes. Each aircraft type plays a specific role and a carrier can have more than one group of aircraft in the air at any one time. Aircraft from a carrier can attack enemy aircraft, scout enemy ships or planes, attack enemy ships directly and escort or cover friendly ships and aircraft.

Tactical Diversity

World of Warships features Wargaming’s signature level of tactical diversity with upgradeable tech modules, each designed with a specific combat objective.
Every sea battle is a unique experience with a wide range of maps that deliver an array of strategic options and scenarios for high stakes PvP engagements.
  • Aircraft carriers — Multi-role ships that add RTS-style gameplay to the mix. Carrying three types of aircraft (Dive Bombers, Torpedo Bombers and Fighters) and the ability to command multiple squadrons at the same time, carriers can shape the battle from the skies.
  • Destroyers — Lightly armoured but swift, destroyers are the fastest and most manoeuvrable ships available. These vessels are perfect for hunting enemy battleships, spotting them for teammates to target or blowing them out of the water personally. Their deadly torpedoes can quickly send any enemy ship to the depths.
  • Cruisers — Combining speed, manoeuvrability and firepower, this class is a major threat on the open water, dealing damage from either massive cannons or torpedoes. Additionally, the anti-aircraft guns that line their decks offer a good line of defence against high-flying threats.
  • Battleships — These are the designated "heavy hitters" of World of Warships. Massive cannons, thick armour and rows of anti-aircraft artillery make them a deadly “triple threat” in any situation.
