If you've seen Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk then you might recognise Maillé-Brézé portraying both British destroyers HMS Vivacious and HMS Vanquisher.
Named after the French admiral Jean Armand de Maillé-Brézé (1619–1646), it was the last of the T 47-class destroyers built by the French Navy in the 1950s. As a convoy escort, Maillé-Brézé needed to be fast and powerful enough to fight against air, surface, and submarine threats with equal efficiency. You can visit her in Nantes, France where she has been turning into a floating naval museum.
