Campaigns

Added Campaigns into the game. Campaigns will make the gameplay more diverse and introduce novice players to some subtleties of the game. Moreover, experienced players will be able to test their skills and earn valuable rewards.

  • A Campaign consists of a set of missions that should be completed successively
  • Each mission includes usual tasks and final tasks that are fulfilled in battles:

    • Final tasks have to be completed in order to accomplish the corresponding missions
    • Usual tasks allow one to earn pins for fulfilling them. Pins are required to unlock the final tasks

      • A task can be completed multiple times, and you will earn pins every time you complete this task
      • Two tasks (three tasks with Premium Account) can be carried out concurrently
      • If you have completed the chosen mission requirements in the battle, but have left the battle before it ended and excluded the mission from the box in the Port, the mission will not be completed.
      • There are some enticing interim rewards for completing tasks. Most often these rewards are in the form of signals, consumables, credits and so on. These interim rewards are issued only once.

    • We plan to grant a large final reward after a Campaign is finished
    • Campaigns may be available permanently or only for a limited time
    • The Campaigns feature becomes available starting from Level 8 in the Service Record. The Signals feature that was previously available at this Service Record level as well as all the other features at successive levels are moved one level up. Because of this, we added Level 13 to the Service Record.

After the release of version 0.5.15, two Campaigns will become available to players:

  • Permanent Campaign "Science of Victory": This long Campaign is aimed at helping novice players master various subtleties of the game. Using various armaments, playing ships of different types, using upgrades, leveling up Commanders, fighting for control of key areas—all these and many other game interface and gameplay aspects will be broken down into simple tasks. After fulfilling this Campaign, the player will receive the final reward—seven days of Premium Account time.
  • Permanent Campaign "Honorable Service": This relatively short, but rather complex, Campaign can be finished only with high-Tier ships. Tasks in this Campaign are aimed at developing personal gameplay skills, improving battle performance, and mastering teamwork. The final reward for finishing this campaign is the Japanese Tier VI Premium destroyer Shinonome plus its Commander (with ten skill points).

Players will be able to familiarise themselves with the content and criteria of all currently available Campaigns, missions, and tasks via the corresponding menu (this menu becomes available after unlocking Level 8 in the Service Record).

With the introduction of Campaigns, missions in client have been renamed to "Battle Missions", and missions within Campaigns will now be called "Missions".

Japanese Destroyers

To enhance their gameplay capabilities, we added an alternate branch for the Japanese destroyers and made changes to some existing Japanese destroyers, including some changes to their HE shells (changes in shells do not affect premium Japanese destroyers).

Standard Branch

Umikaze, Tier II

  • 120-mm Mk3 HE shells damage has been decreased from 2000 to 1700, chances to set on fire have been decreased from 8% to 7%

Wakatake, Tier III

  • Type 6 torpedoes were removed. Players had been required to research and purchase this module for further leveling up. However, this module had not provided any substantial increase in the ship's battle performance characteristics.
  • 120-mm Type 1 HE shells damage has been decreased from 2000 to 1700, chances to set on fire have been decreased from 8% to 7%

Isokaze, Tier IV

  • Main battery loading time was increased (from 10 to 12 seconds)
  • Changed the technical characteristics of the Type 92 torpedoes:

    • Torpedo speed was decreased (from 68 to 57 knots)
    • Damage by a torpedo was decreased (from 14,400 to 10,833 points)
    • Reload time of torpedo tubes was reduced (from 47 to 42 seconds)
  • We had to make these changes in order to decrease its battle performance, that previously was excessively high as compared to its counterparts.
  • 120-mm Type 1 HE shells damage has been decreased from 2000 to 1700, chances to set on fire have been decreased from 8% to 7%

Mutsuki, Tier V

  • It was moved from Tier VI to Tier V and its technical characteristics were significantly reworked (in fact, it became a new ship).

Fubuki, Tier VI

  • It was moved from Tier VIII to Tier VI and its technical characteristics were significantly reworked (in fact, it became a new ship).

Akatsuki, Tier VII

  • This new ship replaces Hatsuharu.

Kagero, Tier VIII

  • It was moved from Tier IX to Tier VIII and its technical characteristics were significantly reworked (in fact, it became a new ship).

Yugumo, Tier IX

  • This new ship replaces Kagero.

Shimakaze, Tier X

  • 127-mm Type 1 HE shells damage has been decreased from 2100 to 1800, chances to set on fire have been decreased from 9% to 7%
  • Decreased main guns reload time from 7 to 6 seconds. Damage per minute is the same as it was in version 0.5.14.

Alternate Branch Composition

The alternate branch includes ships from Tiers V–VIII (Tier IX and X ships will be added later; in version 0.5.15, the last ship of this branch is the Tier VIII destroyer Akizuki). The new ships in this branch feature powerful artillery, a decreased number of torpedo tubes (as compared to ships in the standard branch), and the Torpedo Reload Booster consumable (available starting from Tier VI). These ships are intended for a more aggressive gameplay style. Their main guns are decent in comparison to similar-Tier Soviet and US destroyers and enable players to more often engage enemy ships in open encounters.

Minekaze, Tier V

  • This ship was moved to the alternate branch
  • Damage of the shell 120-mm HE Type 1 was reduced from 2000 to 1700, also reduced probability of setting on fire from 8% to 7%
  • Main battery loading time was decreased:

    • For 120 mm/45 Type3 — from 12.6 to 10.9 seconds
    • For 120 mm/45 Type3 (B) — from 10.5 to 10 seconds
  • Changed the technical characteristics of the Type 92 torpedoes:

    • Torpedo speed was decreased (from 68 to 57 knots)
    • Damage by a torpedo was decreased (from 14,400 to 10,833 points)
    • Reload time of torpedo tubes was reduced (from 47 to 42 seconds)
  • These changes were required to make it fit its new role.

Hatsuharu, Tier VI

  • It was moved from Tier VII to Tier VI and its technical characteristics were significantly reworked (in fact, it became a new ship).

Shiratsuyu, Tier VII

  • This is a newly added ship.

Akizuki, Tier VIII

  • This is a newly added ship.

Principles of Ship Replacement

The general principle is "players will not lose anything":

  1. The ship that has been replaced will remain available to the player (in their Port if it was purchased or in the researched state if it was researched)
  2. The replacement ship will be added to the player's account together with a ship slot (if the replaced ship has been purchased) or will become researched (if the replaced ship has been researched)
  3. Replacement of modules will be carried out by means of adding similar modules for the new ship to the players account or by reimbursement of their cost in XP (added to the new ship) and credits
  4. For the replaced ship, its Commander's specialisation will be changed to the ship of the corresponding Tier in the standard branch. For the second ship, a new Commander will be added to the player's account together with the place in the Reserve and bonus Commander XP
  5. If a permanent camouflage was mounted on the replaced ship, it will remain mounted on this ship and a new permanent camouflage (for the added ship) will be added to the player's account.

Detailed Ship Replacement Rules

For a detailed list of the ship replacement rules, check out the addendum.

Dynamic Divisions

Added the "Divisions" tab to the battle-loading screen and the battle-statistics screen (displayed after pressing the [Tab] key during a battle). It is possible to quickly create a Division, invite players to join a Division, or submit a request for joining an existing Division via this tab.

To complete any missions that require being in a division, the player needs to be in a division at the end of the battle (i.e. the moment the post-battle statistics are displayed). The division can consist of only one player (if other players left it during the battle). If the player leaves a division during the battle and they don't rejoin it or create a new one, they will not complete the task, while players who stayed in the division will complete it.

  • A Division with only one member that has been created in the Port will now be removed when entering battle
  • A Dynamic Division with only one member will be removed after the battle
  • When Dynamic Divisions are created or dismissed, the corresponding notifications are displayed in the battle chat of the corresponding team
  • A Division Commander can lock the Division, in order to accept players only when invited by the Commander
  • The Dynamic Divisions feature is available in Co-op and Random Battles
  • The maximum number of Divisions is six for Random Battles and three for Co-op Battles
  • An invitation to join a Dynamic Division can be sent via the side team panel
  • The time delay between sending invitations to the same player will increase after each rejected or recalled invitation. Delay values: 15, 45, and 150 seconds
  • Players can disable receiving invitations to join a Dynamic Division via the "Divisions" tab (this setting will be retained)
  • A player can concurrently receive up to three invitations
  • After their ship is destroyed, a player is unable to carry out operations with Dynamic Divisions (except leaving a Division)
  • During battles, a Dynamic Division will only be created after the following matchmaker rule is successfully applied: "quantity of Divisions in the opposing teams cannot differ by more than one"
  • The internal voice chat feature is working for Dynamic Divisions in the same way as for standard Divisions.

Other Updates

Containers

Premium ships possessed by a player will now be taken into account when a container is collected. If a container includes a Premium ship already possessed by a player, it will be replaced by another randomly selected ship. Moreover, in case a player already possesses all ships that can be obtained via containers then the player will receive a bonus (in Doubloons) equal to the price of the ship in the collected container. For promo ships, this bonus is fixed. For ships that are available for purchase, this bonus is equal to the current ship price (displayed in the game client) for the server (rather than the Premium Shop) in the corresponding region. Let's look at two examples of the ships available for purchase to understand how it works:

1. You already have all the ships that can be obtained via containers and have collected a container with Tirpitz. Tirpitz is currently offered at a 15% discount via the game client (irrespective of the Premium Shop). In this case, you will receive a bonus in the amount of its original price minus the discount: 10,625 Doubloons, rather than 12,500.

2. You already have all the ships that can be obtained via containers and have collected a container with Scharnhorst. Scharnhorst is currently offered at a15% discount via the Premium Shop. However, there is no discount for it in the game client because it is not available for purchase via the game client in your region. In this case, you will receive a bonus to the amount of its original price, 9,500 Doubloons.

Epicenter

In Epicenter mode, sector boundaries will now be marked by neat, solid lines.

Bastion

Bastion game mode has been temporarily switched off due to technical issue with buildings parameters.

Maps and Locations

  • Improved the appearance of the "Saint Petersburg" Port as well as the landscape on the "New Dawn" map. Made slight corrections to landscape objects on the "Strait" map.
  • Fixed various defects in the "Saint Petersburg" Port as well as on the following maps: Archipelago, Strait, Sea of Fortune, Polar, Mountain Range, New Dawn, The Atlantic, Trident, Neighbors, Estuary, and Shards.

Physics Model

Improved the physics model for destroyed ships. We significantly lowered the probability of the following events happening in the game:

  • "Leaping" of destroyed ships out of the water
  • Incorrect behaviour when several ships are destroyed in the same place
  • Twitching of small ships when they were destroyed by ramming
  • Rotation of a ship's wreck when it was destroyed while manoeuvring

Permanent Camouflage

Improved visuals of the permanent camouflage for cruiser Minotaur.

Added permanent camouflages for the following ships: Pensacola, Akatsuki, Yugumo, Shiratsuyu, and Akizuki.

Pensacola, Akatsuki, and Shiratsuyu:

  • -3% to detectability range by sea
  • +4% to the maximum dispersion of shells by the enemy attacking your ship
  • +50% to XP earned in battle
  • -5% to the cost of the ship's post-battle service
  • Camouflage cost: 2,000 Doubloons.

Akizuki:

  • -3% to detectability range by sea
  • +4% to maximum dispersion of shells by the enemy attacking your ship
  • +50% to XP earned in the battle
  • -10% to the cost of the ship's post-battle service
  • Camouflage cost: 3,000 Doubloons.

Yugumo:

  • -3% to detectability range by sea
  • +4% to the maximum dispersion of shells by the enemy attacking your ship
  • +100% to XP earned in battle
  • -20% to the cost of the ship's post-battle service
  • Camouflage cost: 4,000 Doubloons.

Reflections

Added the graphics setting "Additional Reflections (SSR)". This setting is intended to improve the quality of reflections:

  • Decreases flickering of reflections when the camera is moving
  • Increases the quality of reflections when in the close-up view and adds missing reflections to the background

New Content Testing

Added new ships for testing by developers and supertesters.

Researchable German destroyers:

  • V-25 at Tier II
  • G-101 at Tier III

  • Leberecht Maass at Tier VII
  • Z-23 at Tier VIII
  • Z-46 at Tier IX
  • Z-52 at Tier X

Premium Ships:

  • Soviet Tier III cruiser Oleg
  • German Tier VI cruiser Admiral Graf Spee
  • US Tier IX battleship Missouri

  • Fixed a rarely encountered bug where the game client hung in the process of loading into a battle
  • Fixed an error where the game client window became hidden under the Windows taskbar after the window had been minimised and maximized back during a battle
  • Fixed a rarely encountered bug on Intel graphics cards where there was black screen flickering when MSAA antialiasing settings were changed
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Commander skill points respec button to not work after the needed amount of doubloons had been purchased
  • Fixed a rarely encountered bug that caused game client crash if launched with old nVidia drivers
  • Fixed a bug where text in Modules tab in the Port has been displayed incorrectly
  • Fixed a bug where ship Tier mark was not fully displayed in the carousel in the Port
  • Fixed a bug where ship ropes were not displayed against sky and water for some ships
  • Fixed a bug where reward multiplier was not displayed correctly in the rewards window ("Honor to heroes")
  • Fixed a bug where ship was not included in the previously set carousel filter in the Port

Minor Improvements

  • Pensacola: for her top hull, AA mounts were added on top of the main turrets. As a result, the AA damage within the 2 km AA engagement area radius increased from 54 points to 61 points. Moreover, the position of the weapon groups camera was corrected in order to account for adding these AA mounts. This camera will now be positioned slightly higher

Please note that in cases where ships are credited twice, the amount of Port Slots is not doubled. The player receives an amount of slots equal to the difference in the amount of ships between version 0.5.14 and 0.5.15.

Example 1: The player owned Mutsuki, Hatsuharu, Fubuki, and Kagero. After the update is released, they revive Mutsuki, Fubuki, Hatsuharu, Akatsuki, Kagero, and Yugumo, according to the ship replacement rules. The difference in the amount of ships is two, so they receive an additional two Port Slots.

Example 2: The player owned Mutsuki, Hatsuharu,,and Kagero, and after the update is released, they revive Mutsuki, Fubuki, Hatsuharu, Akatsuki, Kagero, and Yugumo according to the ship replacement rules. The difference in the amount of ships is three, so the player receives an additional three Port Slots.
